Welcome to the Knights!

The Fleming Men’s Basketball program has had a very productive summer, signing 3 impact players for the 2016-2017 season. They have added a 6’9 forward, Peterborough native Matt Nelson, who spent his first 3 seasons with the University of Ottawa. “Matt’s size and mobility will help us on both ends of the floor, and his experience coming from a great program will also add value to the team,” Coach Wilson said. The 3rd year coach will also bring aboard Jaquan Levene, a 6’5 point guard from Toronto. Jaquan spent last season across the border as a redshirt for South Western College in Iowa. “Jaquan’s size and playmaking ability creates a lot of problems for opposing defenses. He has such a great feel for the game, being left handed will create some advantages as well. We are very excited to have him here.” Fleming also adds another solid shooter to the roster, with the recruitment of 6’0 guard Mark Pereira. “Mark is a high character kid that can shoot the ball, defensively he is pretty strong, which is rare coming out of high school, so we are glad to add some depth at the guard position” Coach Wilson added. With these new acquisitions, the Knights look to improve on what they have built since Coach Wilson’s arrival two seasons ago. Their first taste of action will be up north in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario for an exhibition tournament on September 23-24. Go Knights!
