Last nights basketball home opener started off with a great win for the lady Knights defeating Seneca 67-59. The game was even until the 2nd quarter when Seneca took the lead by 13 points. In the second half Fleming had a stronger defence and hit their key shots. Kelly Killoran led the game with 26 points and 8 3-pointers, Ruth Holland followed closely behind with 24 points. Fleming started off the season strong, upsetting one of the top teams in the east.
The men were neck and neck with Seneca for most of the game. They played strong in the first quarter but fell back in the second and third giving Seneca a 10 point lead that they were unable to recover from in the fourth.
The next Knights basketball home game will be November 14th when they take on the Centennial Colts.
