Ontario Colleges Athletic Association Cross-country Running Provincial Championships, Saturday Oct. 29th, hosted by St. Lawrence College, Kingston
Sir Sandford Fleming Knights men’s Cross-country Running Team won the bronze medal at the OCAA Championships held Saturday October 29th in Kingston.
Jamie Switzer led the Fleming team, placing third overall and posting a personal best of 26:21 for the 8km distance. Thomas Toth placed 5th overall in a personal best time of 26:58. Switzer and Toth also earned positions on the Ontario All-star team and will represent Ontario at the Canadian Championships in Kamloops BC November 12th.
Other members of Fleming’s bronze medal team included Terry Crain (29:36) , Nick Weissflog (30:41), Luke Hlevanka (32:45) and Mike Engelking (34:39).
Fleming’s women’s team placed 10th overall in the 5km race, led by Rosanna Los 22:29, Jenny Orbell 23:02, Vicky Hegedus 23:03 and Amy Bryant 24:33.
The Fleming teams will travel to Kamloops BC November 11th to compete in the CCAA Championships hosted by Thompson Rivers University November 12th.
